North Yorkshire property developer, Castlevale, together with Broadacres Housing Association, is proposing to submit a planning application for permission to develop the Sowerby Gateway site, located to the south west of Thirsk (with Sowerby). The plans incorporate the provision of high quality housing, children’s play facilities, open green space, playing fields, shops and leisure facilities, as well as a new primary school. Modern commercial buildings will also be developed to encourage local enterprise and employment. Castlevale has worked hard to ensure that these plans meet not only the needs of Hambleton District Council, but also those of the local community. The result is a responsible and sustainable plan for the site which has been carefully designed to facilitate the continued growth and prosperity of Thirsk and Sowerby.
