| Sympathetic Housing |
|
||||
The Core Strategy requires Thirsk, highlighted as a Principal Service Centre, to provide 1491 dwellings between now and 2026 and the Sowerby Gateway scheme is designed to meet a large proportion of that requirement. In phase 1, a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes will be provided. A distinctive architectural style has been developed using traditional materials, to ensure that the new homes fit harmoniously into the Thirsk (with Sowerby) setting. The housing will be built to the latest standards
for sustainability and low energy use and will be constructed using
a range of soft red and brown brickwork with off white render for
the walls and a combination of natural clay and grey slates for the
roofs. |
