Principal access to the site will be from a new roundabout linking the site east and west of Topcliffe Road and providing access to the A168 and A19. This will allow Sowerby residents to utilise the by-pass effectively, removing the need for northbound traffic to negotiate Blakey Bridge to access the York Road junction.

Additionally, Northallerton-bound traffic will be able to avoid travelling through the town centre or Westgate/Tesco roundabouts, instead accessing the bypass and leaving at the South Kilvington junction.
